Cultural & Clinical Outcomes

An important on-going activity of QAAMS is to assess the cultural and clinical effectiveness of POCT in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical service setting. This is undertaken by:

  • Qualitative surveys of our key stakeholder groups, Aboriginal health professionals as POCT operators, doctors who are managing clients with diabetes using the POCT results, and clients as consumers of the POCT service.
  • Collecting and analysing data on whether POCT is contributing to improved clinical outcomes for clients with diabetes.
